Welcome to the home of China-Biotics! Headquartered in Shanghai, China-Biotics, Inc. was founded in 1999 and is one of China’s largest suppliers of probiotics. Probiotics are beneficial, live bacteria used as dietary supplements and food additives to improve intestinal health and digestion. The Company’s product portfolio contains live microbials made with proprietary technology. Currently, these products are sold over-the-counter under the “Shining” brand through large distributors to more than 1,000 pharmacies and 100 supermarkets in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Shining is one of the most recognized brands in Shanghai. The company also supplies probiotics as bulk additives for the food industry.

The “Shining Probiotics” trademark was registered in 2005. The production process has received four certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and HACCP, a U.S. FDA designation required for all imports into the U.S.), all verified by the TÜV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg Group of Companies. China-Biotics also holds three patents that protect production and sales of its flagship product, Shining Essence, and trademark protection related to Shining Essence through 2011.

The company's most recognizable customers include Bright Dairy and Relax Xinqiao. In March 2006, the first retail store was opened in Shanghai. It plans to expand the retail network to as many as 300 Shining brand retail centers during the next two years.
